Apr 01, 2008 It's day 4 at SXSW...exhaustion has set in, but the action doesn't stop. David Banner gives a "heroic" performance, while Clark W. of TGB mixes and mingles.
David Banner's performance at the Levi’s/Fader party (a 4-day event that featured perhaps the festival’s best overall lineup) was one of the most raw, intense, and emotional I’ve ever witnessed. The separation between stage and audience was obliterated; Banner turned the place into a frenzy of spilled guts, spilled brains, and spilled booze. Upon finishing, Banner joined the crowd one last time and was bombarded with hugs and “thank yous”. When he motioned for me to hand him my camera, I did so with slight reservation. After waving it around for 20 seconds he gave it back to me unharmed. The lesson here is that David Banner can totally be trusted with expensive, breakable equipment.
