I wasn't a big fan.  I think they really just tried to push that connected theme too much.

I was happy to see The Departed take the gold that year.  Because let's face it, a movie where all the main characters can shoot another person in the head as well as having a well-written script is what we all really wanted anyway.

I've never even seen "Babel", mostly because I don't think I'd like it. I tend to not like movies that are longer than 100 minutes.
